RECIPE BY: Richard aka LaReeRee

2 cups white bread flour
1 tablespoon Royal Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup chakalaka (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup grated Clover cheese (cheddar or any Clover cheese of your choice)
1/2 cup diced ham
1/2 cup diced mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
2 large eggs
1/2 cup Clover fresh milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, cumin, turmeric, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs lightly, then mix in the olive oil and milk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chakalaka, grated cheese, diced ham, diced mushrooms, chopped parsley, and green onions until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, slice and serve your chakalaka bread with mushrooms, cheese, and ham.
