Fayruza's Masterclass Monkey Bread
Ingredients:
5 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar or white
1/4 p butter
2 pkts yeast
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs xl
3 cups whole milk
Salt
Method:
- Add dry ingredients to bowl
- Rub in butter until mixture resembles crumbs
- Then ensure milk is lukewarm
- Add in 3 eggs well beaten
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until u have a smooth elastic dough..
- This process can be done by hand or kitchen aid..
- Rub lightly with a little bit of oil..
- Cover dough with cling and prove for at least 30 to 40 mins or until dough has almost doubled in volume
- Then knock down dough and divide into six balls..
- Mix individual spices into each piece of dough
- Shape little balls and place into well greased baking sheets
- Egg wash and garnish or sprinkle over toppings
- Allow to prove for at least 15 to 20 mins
- Bake in preheated oven.. 180 degrees
Toppings:
- Poppy seeds
- Caramelised onion
- Chives
- Feta cheese
- Poppy seeds
- Smoked paprika
- Coriande
