Charné's Unicorn Surprise Cake
Vanilla Sponge
10 eggs
500g sugar
500g flour
50g Royal Baking Powder
315g oil
315g boiling water
1 vanilla pod
10vanilla extract
Your favorite gel food colors
- Whisk together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the dry ingredients and the oil,
- Lastly when mixture is smooth add the boiling water, divide the mixture into small bowls coloring it different colors, and add little bits of the colors at a time into the pans
- Grease the cake pans add baking paper, and divide the mixture into small bowls coloring it different colors, and add little bits of the colors at a time into the pans,
- Bake at 170°c until the skewer comes out clean
Buttercream
500g butter
1kg icing sugar
10 vanilla extract
Raspberry flavor nations
Turkish delight flavor nations
- Beat the butter until light and fluffy add the icing sugar and the vanilla
- Divide the mixture and add flavor nations to each by taste
- The buttercream is also colored in my favorite colors, which were then added in the piping bags and layered, then I used the scraper to smooth the cake.
- The top tier I buttercreamed, and let it sit in the fridge, then colored the fondant into rainbow colors, made long snake shapes and added on the bottom tier, to assemble the cake, add dowels and cut it all the same size.
- Cover the top tier in white fondant, use the leftover rainbow fondant to create hair for the unicorn, for the unicorn horn, roll out white fondant like a snake, thinner on the 2 sides and fold it together twisting it to form the horn,insert a skewer in the middle, dust with gold dust roll out the white fondant and cut out ear shapes, add toothpicks in to help it stand up
