HOW TO ENTER:
- Entries open: 5 June to 27 June 2025.
- Contestants must be between 13 and 17 years old.
To apply to be on the show:
- Complete the form & upload a video of the applicant telling us about themselves and showing off their cooking or baking skills using their favourite Clover products.
- As an optional extra please upload up to 3 images showing examples of bakes / dishes the contestant has made.
- If you are applying for yourself you must obtain prior consent from your parents/legal guardian before sending entry and (if selected) further participation in the competition will be subject to your parent/guardian signing a written participation contract.

Yes, contestants and their accompanying parent / legal guardian will be accommodated in Cape Town for the duration that the contestant is required for filming.
TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR APPLYING FOR THE TASTE MASTER SA JUNIOR 2025
1. Introduction
1.1 The Taste Master SA Junior (“TMSA Jnr/Programme”) is a 12-episode reality competition television series that is provisionally scheduled to broadcast on SABC 2 between October and December 2025.
1.2 TMSA Jnr will be produced by Cardova Trading (Pty) Ltd (“Cardova”), who owns all rights, title and interest in and to TMSA Jnr.
1.3 TMSA Jnr will include a competition (“Competition”) where selected contenders (“Contenders”) will compete in various challenges during a total approximate period of 5 weeks between 1 July and 3 August 2025 (“Competition Period”), that will be televised as part of TMSA Jnr. Specific dates for the Competition will be determined by Cardova at its sole discretion and may be amended at Cardova’s discretion.
1.4 TMSA Jnr is sponsored by Clover SA (Pty) Ltd, Capitec Bank Limited, Food Lover’s Holdings (Pty) Ltd, RFG Foods (Pty) Ltd, RCL Foods Consumer (Pty) Ltd, Tongaat Hulett Limited and such other sponsors that may be introduced at Cardova’s sole discretion (collectively “the Sponsors”).
1.5 By submitting your application for TMSA Jnr, you submit that you have obtained the prior consent of your parents or legal guardian, and that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions prior to you submitting your application, and you agree that the terms and conditions as set our herein are binding on you. A copy of these terms and conditions will be available on www.thetastemaster.co.za.
2. Who can apply
2.1 In order to be considered as a Contender for the Competition, you must: –
2.1.1 have a passion for food;
2.1.2 be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the Republic of South Africa (“South Africa”);
2.1.3 be between the ages of 13 and 17 years;
2.1.4 have obtained the prior consent of your parent or legal guardian as contemplated in clause 1.5 above;
2.1.5 ensure that, if selected as a Contender, you can be fully available to participate in the Competition on any dates and times as may be required by Cardova during the Competition Period;
3. How to apply
3.1 Applications for Contenders will be received via www.thetastemaster.co.za or via the WhatsApp line on 065 672 7127 between 5 and 27 June 2025 (“Application Period”). Notwithstanding the aforesaid, the Application Period may be amended by Cardova at its discretion without further notice.
3.2 To apply, you must record a video of yourself telling us about yourself and showing off your culinary skills by cooking or baking with your favourite Clover products. Then visit www.thetastemaster.co.za to complete the entry form (link to entry form) and upload your video within the Application Period (“Application”). You must follow all the directions for entry that will be provided on www.thetastemaster.co.za.
3.3 Entry videos can also be submitted via WhatsApp to 065 672 7127.
4. How Contenders will be selected and Auditions
4.1 Cardova will in its sole discretion select a shortlist of applicants who will be invited for auditions via an online platform on such dates and times determined by Cardova. Cardova may at any time at its sole discretion cancel or withdraw an invitation that was sent to an applicant.
4.2 Applicants who are invited for auditions (“Invited Applicants”), will be responsible for own arrangements and or costs (if any) to participate in the online auditions.
4.3 If an Invited Applicant is for any reason unable to attend the audition, he/she will not be considered as a Contender and shall have no claim against the Stakeholders.
4.4 Cardova will at its sole discretion select the Contenders from the Invited Applicants, who will be invited to participate in the Competition. Participation in the Competition will be subject to the parent or legal guardian of the selected Contender entering into and signing a written Participation Agreement with Cardova on behalf of the selected Contender.
5. The Competition overview and determination of the Winner
5.1 Unless otherwise required by Cardova at its discretion, the Competition will be conducted and filmed at locations in and around Cape Town, Western Cape during the Competition Period.
5.2 Cardova will provide for reasonable transportation, accommodation and subsistence for the Contender to participate in the Competition on dates required by Cardova.
5.3 Contenders will be eliminated throughout the Competition Period.
5.4 The winner of the Competition (“Winner”) will be determined at the sole and unfettered discretion of Cardova, or its appointed representatives (e.g. Judges) and will be announced during the broadcast of the final episode of TMSA Jnr on SABC 2 (unless otherwise determined by Cardova).
6. Prizes
6.1 The Winner will be awarded a cash prize of R200 000 curtesy of Capitec Bank.
6.2 Cardova may at its sole discretion award further prizes to Contenders throughout the Competition Period.
7. By submitting your Application, you acknowledge/agree/submit that: –
7. 1 If selected as a Contender herein, you will be available to participate in the Competition, without restriction, for the full duration of the Competition Period on such dates and times determined by Cardova.
7.2 You are between 13 and 17 years of age.
7.3 You are a citizen or permanent legal resident of South Africa and you will produce your valid ID, or such other valid identification document that may be required by Cardova, if and when requested to do so.
7.4 All the information included on your Application is true.
7.5 You have no contractual or other legal obligations that may conflict with your Application or participation in TMSA Jnr and or the Competition.
7.6 The determination of Contenders, eliminations of Contenders throughout the Competition and the Winner, will be determined in the sole discretion of Cardova, and/or its appointed representatives (e.g. the Judges). You irrevocably accept and agree that Cardova’s and/or the Judges’ decisions regarding the aforesaid will be final and you will not challenge same.
7.7 TMSA Jnr is sponsored by the Sponsors and, if selected as a Contender, you agree to make use of and or engage with Sponsor products as and when required throughout the Competition.
7.8 If selected as Contender, you shall not engage in any activities that violate any law, offend against public morals or that reflects negatively on the Programme and/or the Stakeholders, compromise the success of the Programme and the Sponsors’ marketing activities related to the Programme, or embarrass the Stakeholders in any way.
7.9 Your parent or legal guardian has expressly consented and agreed that we may collect, get, receive, record, organise, collate, store, update, change, retrieve, read, process, consult, use and share your personal information for the purposes of administering your Application herein and your participation relating to TMSA Jnr and the Competition.
7.10 You acknowledge that the Competition and related activities (e.g. Applications/behind-the-scenes happenings/profile shoots) may be televised as part and parcel of the Programme and/or as otherwise distributed by Cardova. You hereby irrevocably assign to Cardova the entire copyright and all other rights of whatsoever nature in and to your participation in and your contribution to the Programme, whether now in existence or arising in the future, including without limitation, the video material submitted on your Application, your performance and/or any comments ascribed to you (whether as part of an interview and/or behind the scenes footage), during Auditions, profile shoots, during your participation in the Competition and/or the Programme and any inclusion of your photographs, likeness, profile, name, voice, sound effect, caricature, literary, artistic and musical materials and the like for purposes of the Programme and/or any related publicity, research and marketing, which Cardova accepts. Cardova shall therefore be entitled to copy, use, edit, juxtapose, broadcast, re-broadcast, publish or communicate to the public your appearance/performance/participation and exploit and license others to use and exploit such contributions, in the whole or in part, by all means and by all media, manner and formats whether now known or hereafter invented throughout the world and in perpetuity without remuneration or royalties in connection with the Programmes or on its own.
7.11 You hereby waive all worldwide moral rights, performers’ rights or similar rights (as defined under the Copyright Act 98 of 1978, the Performers’ Protection Act 11 of 1967 or in terms of any similar laws of any other jurisdiction) which you may have in your performance/participation.
7.12 Should Cardova decide not to proceed with TMSA Jnr, for any reason whatsoever, Cardova may in its sole discretion elect to terminate this Application without any liability to you.
7.13 If you are selected as a Contender your parent or legal guardian will be required to sign a written Participation Agreement on your behalf, which will, inter alia, incorporate the relevant terms and conditions contained herein as well as such other provisions that may be required by Cardova. Should your parent or legal guardian fail to sign the aforementioned agreement within 24 (twenty-four) hours of it being provided to you, you will forfeit your opportunity to participate in the Competition and shall have no claim against us.
7.14 Cardova may amend these terms and conditions at any time at its discretion.
7.15 By submitting your Application does not in any way guarantee, imply or suggest that you will be invited for any auditions or be selected as a Contender.
7. 16 These terms and conditions will be construed, interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
8. Indemnity
8.1 The Stakeholders shall not be held liable and you hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Stakeholders and their employees, directors, agents and representatives against any damage or loss of whatsoever nature arising from your Application and/or participation in the Programme and/or Competition.
9. You warrant that:-
9.1 You understand and accept the terms and conditions contained herein and agree to be bound to these terms and conditions.
9.2 Your parent or legal guardian has read these terms and conditions and has consented to you submitting your Application and to you participating in the Programme and the Competition, if selected as a Contender.
